The intake is a crucial component in industrial fluid systems for media suction, especially playing a core role in submersible electric pumps, multiphase pumps, and gas processing equipment. Its design must meet the needs of stable operation under high gas content conditions. Typical application scenarios include oilfield oil extraction, wastewater treatment, and chemical processes. Taking oilfield submersible electric pumps as an example, the intake needs to be used with a gas-liquid separator (such as a rotary or vortex separator) to ensure that the gas content of the medium at the pump inlet is below 30%, avoiding gas locking that leads to reduced pump efficiency. Its structure usually includes wear-resistant bearings (such as hard alloy materials), corrosion-resistant coatings (such as nickel-based alloys), and a dynamically balanced rotor assembly to adapt to high-temperature, high-sand abrasion environments. Some high-end models (such as the TVEM series) use a two-stage or multi-stage series design to improve gas-liquid separation efficiency by optimizing the flow path structure while reducing fluid resistance. In addition, the intake must also have anti-scaling capabilities. Especially in salt-containing or sand-containing media, special materials (such as Monel K-500 alloy) or surface treatment technologies (such as ceramic spraying) are needed to extend its service life.
